Using this Dividend Calculator Simulator

Our Dividend Calculator Simulator is designed to help you see how your investments could grow over time with dividends, reinvestment, and regular contributions. Follow these steps to make the most of the tool.

Step 1: Enter Your Starting Details

Begin by filling in your start year, the number of years you want to project, and any initial shares you currently hold.

  • Start Year: The year your simulation begins.
  • Years: How long you’d like to run the simulation (up to 40 years).
  • Initial Shares: If you already own shares, enter that number. If you’re starting fresh, leave it at 0.

Step 2: Adjust Growth and Dividend Yield

Next, set your expectations for price growth and dividend yield.

  • Price Annual Growth (%): How much you expect the stock or ETF price to rise each year.
  • Dividend Yield (%): The expected annual dividend yield based on the current share price.

These assumptions will drive your portfolio projections.

Step 3: Add Monthly Contributions and Currency Settings

Decide how much you’ll invest each month. You can:

  • Enter your monthly contribution amount in your local currency.
  • Choose your contribution currency and portfolio currency.
  • Set an FX rate if you’re investing across different currencies.

The simulator automatically converts your monthly contributions into the portfolio currency.

Step 4: Choose Reinvestment Options by Year

You can toggle whether dividends are reinvested back into more shares or kept as cash.

  • Switch Reinvest Dividends on or off for each year.
  • This lets you test different strategies, such as reinvesting early but taking cash later.

You can also decide which years to make monthly contributions, giving you flexibility to simulate breaks in investing.

Step 5: Review Your Results and Download Data

Once you’ve entered your details, the simulator will generate:

  • A portfolio growth chart showing your projected value over time.
  • A yearly table with asset price, shares held, dividends, cumulative contributions, and net gain.
  • Key metrics like IRR (Internal Rate of Return) and cumulative dividends.

You can also download your data as a CSV file for further analysis in Excel or Google Sheets.
