Cash Management Account Deals & Promotion
Cash management products can be useful for putting idle cash to work while you wait for your next investment opportunity.
Unlike a bank savings account, these products generally invest your money into money market funds. Returns can change and your principal is not guaranteed, so I look at more than just the headline yield.
Moomoo Cash Plus

- Cash Plus can be used towards stock buying power
- SGD & USD options available
Webull MoneyBull

3.50%
p.a. (Approx.)
$1,750
Est. earning over 1 year at $50,000
- $1 Min.
- No Lock-in
- No Redemption Fee
- No Subscription Fee
CMA Feature
- Automatically invests idle SGD or USD
- 99% of Moneybull value added to buying power
- Automatic redemption when cash is needed for trades
- No Moneybull fee charged by Webull*
Which one pays more? That can change over time because the underlying fund yields move with market conditions. I would check the latest yield inside each platform rather than choosing based on an old advertised rate.
What is a Promotional Offer?
A promotional offer is an incentive given by a brokerage or investing platform to attract new customers or encourage existing customers to use certain features.
For investing platforms, this may include things such as free shares, cash rewards, commission rebates, boosted cash management returns or rewards for transferring an existing portfolio.
The reward normally comes with certain requirements. You may need to deposit a minimum amount, keep the funds in your account for a period of time, complete a certain number of trades or meet other conditions before receiving it.
This is why I always look beyond the headline reward and check what you actually need to do to qualify.
Common Brokerage Promotions in Singapore
Brokerage promotions can look very attractive, but the structure differs from platform to platform.
Here are some of the most common types I come across.
Welcome Rewards
These are promotions for new customers opening a brokerage account.
The reward may include:
- Cash credits
- Free shares
- Stock vouchers
- Commission rebates
- Cash management bonuses
The bigger rewards usually require a larger deposit or additional conditions.
Deposit Promotions
Some brokers offer additional rewards based on how much money you deposit.
For example, you may receive a different reward for depositing S$2,000 compared with S$10,000 or S$50,000.
Always check whether the money needs to remain in the account for a minimum period before you can withdraw it.
Transfer-In Promotions
If you already hold investments with another brokerage, some platforms may reward you for transferring your shares into their account.
These can be useful if you were already planning to change brokers, but I would not move a portfolio purely for the reward.
Check:
- Transfer fees charged by your existing broker
- Minimum portfolio value
- Eligible markets or securities
- Required holding period
Trading Rewards and Fee Promotions
Some brokers offer temporary commission-free trading, platform fee rebates or rewards after completing a certain number of trades.
These offers can reduce your trading costs, but be careful not to make unnecessary trades just to qualify for a promotion.
For long-term investors like me, saving a few dollars in fees is not worth changing an investing strategy.
Cash Management Promotions
Cash management products may occasionally offer boosted returns or bonus yields for new deposits.
These promotional rates are usually temporary and may only apply up to a certain amount.
I prefer to separate: “the normal return of the product” from “the temporary promotional return.“
This gives you a better idea of whether the product is still useful after the promotion ends.
What I Check Before Claiming a Promotion
A large headline reward does not always mean it is the best deal.
Before signing up, I normally check:
- Minimum deposit: How much money do I need to put in?
- Holding period: How long must the money remain in the account?
- Trading requirements: Do I need to make a certain number of trades?
- Reward conditions: Is the reward guaranteed, random or based on tiers?
- Withdrawal restrictions: Can withdrawing early cause the reward to be cancelled?
- Fees: Are there platform, trading, transfer or fund management fees?
- Expiry date: When does the promotion end?
- Broker regulation: For Singapore investors, I prefer dealing with brokers regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore where relevant.
Should You Choose a Broker Based on a Promotion?
I don’t think a promotion should be the main reason you choose a brokerage.
A S$100 or S$200 reward is nice, but you may be using the platform for many years.
I would pay more attention to things such as:
- Regulation and safety
- Trading fees
- Markets available
- Ease of use
- Research tools
- Customer support
- Currency conversion costs
- Cash management features
The promotion should be a bonus, not the reason for choosing the broker.
How I List Promotions on IncomeBuddies
I try to feature promotions from investing platforms that I have researched, tested or covered on IncomeBuddies.
Promotions change frequently, so I update this page when I can. However, reward amounts, eligibility requirements and expiry dates may change without much notice.
Before signing up, I recommend clicking through to the provider and checking the latest terms and conditions yourself.
Some links on this page are affiliate links. I may receive a commission if you sign up through them, at no additional cost to you. This does not affect how I review or compare the platforms.
