As an investor, I always wonder what are the Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) dividend distribution frequency for each of the ETFs that is listed on the SGX, and find it troublesome to get all the information at one place. Thus, I’ve consolidated all the ETFs in Singapore in one simple table.

Distribution Frequency

The dividend distribution for the ETFs are mainly separated into the following frequency:

  • Monthly: 1
  • Quarterly: 9
  • Semi-Annually: 19
  • Annually: 6

Geographical Focus

Geographical focus of each of the ETFs are different as well:

Why Do You Want To Know About Singapore ETFs Dividend Payout Frequency?

Not all ETFs pays dividend, and many of these ETFs pays a dividend once or twice a year.

With ETFs as one of the few low-risk investment that people to help generate passive income, it is a popular form of investment for beginner investors, investor who have low risk tolerance and lazy dividend investors.

As you start your dividend investing in Singapore, consider learning things like:

Understanding the ETFs dividend distribution frequency allow you to know which ETFs offers a frequent dividend payment that give you a better idea on which ETFs to pick for your investment if you are looking for investing for passive income.

Common Frequency of Dividend Distribution For Singapore ETFs

Contradictory to common belief, less than half of the ETFs pays a dividend and Singapore ETFs generally distribute their dividends on the following frequency:

  • Monthly: Dividend distribution is performed 12 times a year and one time every month.
  • Quarterly: Dividend distribution is performed in all 4 quarters of the year; Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4
  • Semi-Annually: Dividend distribution is performed twice a year according to the company’s financial year, but generally it is; 1H (Jan to Jun), and 2H (Jul to Dec).
  • Annually: Dividend distribution is performed once per year, generally at the end of the company’s financial year.
